Raha is a slow fashion collection exploring expressions of coziness and intimacy in a warm climate. Raha indirectly translates to an expression in Arabic, meaning 'everyday peace', or to appreciate a small moment of bliss.

Inspired by her time spent in Morocco, Creative Director Katarina Protsack became intrigued by the unexpected ways in which sensations of coziness and intimacy manifested through the country's architecture and traditional craft. She embraced the challenge to design an autumn/winter collection inspired by ways in which coziness is created in a warm climate, rather than the more typical association with a cold northern environment.

Architecturally, intimacy was found in Morocco's riads: the enclosure of a courtyard in Marrakech, or an evening fire lit in a tucked-away corner in Essaouira. In clothing, the use of textiles to wrap or drape the silhouette created a sense of enclosure and personal space. Looking to the Atlas Mountains, the spiritual wool craft of the Berber people provided an unexpected textural sensation with warmth and coziness.

For the collection's colours, Morocco inspired in its interiors. The geometry and colours of zellige tiles dazzled with their jewel greens. The use of brown and deep red in nighttime interiors created ambiance and a deep base for Moroccans' expert use of mood lighting. Blue is represented in the collection for its artistic affiliation with the famous Jardin Majorelle, a favourite of legendary designer Yves Saint Laurent.

For Raha's artistic collaboration, we partnered with London-based visual and textile artist Chisara Vidale on a collection of upcycled vintage leather bags. Inspired by the use of wool in Berber art, we wanted to use the material to transform forgotten vintage bags into hybrid leather/wool 'comfort creatures' that sit snug under the arm.
