Creative Process ~ Marpha Scarf
Marpha is our cozy festive season scarf. It's 100% merino wool and handmade by Italian artisan knitting studio Manusa.
The scarf is an intarsia and embroidered interpretation of James Watkins' painted spiral, also featured in the artwork for our Hille Raincoat. It's a pleasing organic form, to us representing the energy of the unknown.
Artwork by James Watkins.
Marpha is our gold standard of sustainability. Our merino wool yarn is sourced from Italy and carries GOTS and mulesing-free credentials. Our supplier is also committed to its aim for circularity, removing all single-use plastics from their supply chain and heavily investing in their capacity to recycle fibre waste from the production cycle.

Marpha was manufactured by artisan knitting studio Manusa, a social cooperative based in Tuscany, Italy. As a social cooperative, they hire and trains socially fragile people to encourage rediscovery of personal creative skills while preserving local artisan craft in their area of Italy.
Manusa represents our ideal of manufacturing - ethical, artisan, and sustainably-minded.
