A 100% silk kimono in midnight blue, with a removable tie-belt. Featuring multi-coloured gold and blue printed art by collaborating artist Jamie House.
Printed on medium-weight silk, the Tantalus is luxuriously soft on the skin. The silk picks up the gold accents of the artwork, offering a subtle sheen when in movement.
The kimono's artwork, Tune In, Drip Out, received its dripping effect via digitally processed experiments with ceramic and glass paints on paper. The resulting images were layered overtop each other, creating an artwork that seductively drips down the wearer's back.
"I dripped the paints vertically to create a coherent motion in the pattern. This big drip was then taken and multiplied at different sizes with slight variations on each repetition to create one big fractal drip where the whole is made up of many tangents on itself." ~ Jamie House
The result is a visual gradient, akin to the Tantalus mountains in the spring. They appear to ooze downwards as they shed their winter cover.
