A black structured bustier, featuring a cosmic detachable sculpture by London-based sculptor Lea Rose Kara. It's finished with boning in the seams for support, and an exposed black metal zip in the back.
Zia's sculpture is easy to remove, revealing an elegantly cut bustier with a curved clavicle-framing neckline. The sculpture is on four hinge hooks attached to fabric loops. Open the hinges and slide out to wear the bustier on its own, or for washing.
Inspired by the James Webb Space Telescope's 'Pillars of Creation' image, Zia's sculpture is made of sculpture foam wrapped in naturally dyed virgin wool, and cured with resin. The pieces resemble an alien cocoon, budding life encased under a transparent shell. Cosmic hues of deep red and extraterrestrial green are marbled in the wool and strung together with gunmetal chains meticulously linked and attached to four hinge hooks in the side seams of the bustier. Strung like a constellation across the front, the beads become 'alien jewels'.

Fabric+ Sustainability
Composition: The bustier outer is made from a blend of lyocell and linen fibres. Lyocell is derived from renewable sources. It's biodegradable and needs less land and water to be created than comparable materials. The inner material is 100% recycled cotton canvas, sourced from recycled cotton shirts. The lining is viscose satin.
Production: The Zia Bustier is demi-couture - it takes two weeks to create just one piece. As the sculptures are made by hand, each piece is unique to the other.
Each bustier is manufactured at a small-batch production studio in North London, specializing in high-end production. The sculptures were made in Lea's West London studio and assembled at our East London space in Hackney Downs Studios.

Packaging: Our products are shipped in 100% compostable mailers, which are both home and commercially compostable, once the shipping labels have been removed. Our soy-based ink stickers are also compostable.
