Creative Process ~ Helios Hand-Painted T-Shirt

The sun beaming down on glistening skin. Colours radiant in the heat. The Aegean sea, aqua and refreshing. These earthly delights and their serotonin-boosting qualities are captured in the Helios Hand-Painted T-Shirt. It is fun, embodied.

Helios translates to 'sun' in Greek and is the personification of the sun in the country's mythology. Artist Laurence Watchorn, with his colourful and intuitive painting style, captures the joy of sun worship in our hand-painted pieces. All pieces were painted by hand in his Chelsea, London studio.

With intentional randomness, motifs including starfish, sun, and colour were painted on the back of the shirt. On the front side, Laurence created wordplay with a textual 'blue', in his signature primal text, paying homage to both the sea and our brand name. The t-shirt's details are signed off with our signature contrast stitching, in a fitting oceanic blue.

We see the Helios T-Shirt as a perfect hybrid of Laurence and Blue Nude's artistic practices. It demonstrates creative harmony in collaboration.
