Roswell Hand-Painted T-Shirt

Roswell: a boxy tee with a slight oversized fit, cut in white 100% BCI fairtrade cotton. It's finished with hand-painted graphic of the eternal optimist: the smiley face.

The smiley was painted by surrealist artist MET in earthly-optimistic shades of blue, green, and yellow. We used acrylic paint and textile medium, allowing for the shirt to be gently hand-washed without damaging the paint.

We love the smiley face for its iconography - it's a universal symbol for optimism.

Roswell is limited run and small-batch, with only 11 pieces made.

Made in England.

Please note due to the hand-painted nature of the garment, there are subtle variations between each piece.

Sustainability

Roswell's cotton is BCI (Better Cotton Initiative), meaning it's fairtrade. It's worth noting that, while the BCI organization aims to educate farmers on more sustainable practices, they do not, as with organic certification, require thorough certification. However, we still believe it is a better alternative to conventional cotton as it enables cotton farmers to be paid more for their product in a market where cotton prices can be artificially suppressed by government subsidies. The cotton is dyed and finished at Tintex in Portugal, a leading jersey manufacturer with a positive reputation for sustainable innovation in the industry.

The Roswell Hand-Painted T-Shirt was manufactured at a small-batch production studio in North London. Each top was made by in-studio by their talented seamstresses and cutters.

Sizing

Model is 5'5, wearing a size small.

Our measurements are taken in cm from the products laid flat, from seam to seam.

Packaging

Our apparel products are shipped in a 100% compostable mailer. After removing the shipping labels, your mailer will decompose after six months in a household compost, or after three months in a commercial compost, leaving no harmful residues behind. Our stickers are also compostable as they are printed with soy-based inks.

Our tissue paper is made of 100% recycled pulp and our comp cards are printed on FSC-certified paper.
