The latest edition of our popular 100% silk kimono, with a removable tie belt. Featuring a burnt red, green, and yellow abstract print on medium-weight silk, painted by artist James Watkins.

In the kimono's artwork, James reflected the dusty tones of the red, green, and yellow shrubbery found at high elevation in Nepal's Himalayan mountains. Originally a large-scale painted work on canvas, he photographed a minute section of the canvas to be used as the kimono's print. The photograph was then digitally printed onto silk to be cut and transformed into our contemporary kimono.

With the close-up perspective of the canvas, the artwork's brushstrokes add a painterly feel to the piece, as if the paint is still drying.

Fabric & Sustainability

Composition: 100% silk

Silk is a natural fabric and biodegradable, though it is worth noting traditional silk production kills silkworms in the process.

Production: Made by hand at our local small-batch production studio in South London.

Packaging: Our products are shipped in 100% compostable mailers, which are both home and commercially compostable, once the shipping labels have been removed. Our soy-based ink stickers are also compostable.

Sizing

Model is 5'8, wearing a size small/medium.

Our measurements are taken in cm from the products laid flat, from seam to seam.
